The Garden at the Davis Library
It was Lynn Martin's dream. The little piece of ground outside the Davis Library, 7501 Independence, was there. All it took was a dream to transform that circle of ground into the first Collin County Rose Society's public garden.
Members spent one Saturday morning in 2005 digging, mixing soil amendments, and planting. Consulting Rosarian Debra Bagley organized parties to dead head the roses.
The the City of Plano gave us a surprise. They cut the water off for one year. That didn't stop these EarthKind beauties. They thrived during one of the most severe droughts ever to hit Plano.
Last April, members had the first pruning party. The City of Plano awarded the garden with a plaque.
