The Collin County Rose Society publishes a full-color newsletter, Petals & Thorns, monthly. Jay Goode is editor. He his a rosarian who was once an editor of a daily newspaper.
The newsletter tries to be relevent to the needs of rose growers in the area. The newsletter features articles from consulting rosarians and other rose experts. Other features are from national rose wholesale retailers such as Weeks Roses.
Occasionally, an entomologist at the Texas AgriLife Extension Service advises members on insect control.
